2023 was quite the year. So much happened in my business from July - December. Sitting down to make this little recap of the last 6 months, I was absolutely astonished by just how many women chose to come to me with their stories, their tears, their hearts, and their truths. It is an absolute gift to me every time you step in front of my lens and I treasure every second I get to watch you on your journey! Truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for being here and being a part of this.

My goal for the end of 2023 was to rebrand from Ember & Ash into Emily Marie Boudoir for 2024 moving forward. I have the domain purchased, I have a welcome guide made, a different website, and even the instagram account that I was slowly posting on. Everything ready to go, just needed to push the "publish" button across the board. But I had this thought while journaling the other day, that the significance behind Ember & Ash is even more meaningful now than I think it was before.

When I first started this boudoir journey I called it Fearlessly Feminine. It was an offshoot of my Between the Canyons Photography. I got into photography because I had the hope I could do boudoir one day. But when I thought about what I wanted my boudoir experience to be about, what I hoped women would experience, I landed on Ember & Ash. Ember - representing the power behind something seemingly small but can grow into a blazing wildfire. Ash - In reference to the myth of the Phoenix who is reborn from the ashes.

I have listened to so many stories that nearly mirror my own this year. I have seen so many women find their strength and power once more. Both in the studio and outside. I have seen so much growth and flourishing from so many, that abandoning the idea that has truthfully been a core of my business and passion, felt wrong. Counterintuitive even.

And I have found so much resolve, strength, and comfort in these pillars of Ember & Ash and what they represent. While it may not make sense to most people when they see my business name as it's not sensual or enticing, I know that those who do find me and truly SEE what I am about are the ones I am meant to work with. And I want to see more of you in 2024.
